Social media like Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, and even LinkedIn have a seduction power that pulls our wandering minds in with ease. Platforms that have been curated specifically to spike dopamine have gripped generations into a zombie-like apporach to "life" (or a lack thereof). This week we have Shadi Awad share insights into the history of some silicon valley big-names, and how he took a significant break from social media as an experiment. The results are quite significant. We know it's not easy, but would you consider taking a social media break for an extended period of time just to see what would happen? Odds are you may get your life back to some degree. Maybe you'll encounter peace and a settling of your soul. Shadi Awad: Shadi is a Palestinian Christian born in Doha, Qatar, with family roots in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. His family immigrated to Toronto, Canada, in 1987, where Shadi spent a large portion of his growing-up years. Shadi moved to Dallas, Texas, in 2004 to complete his studies. He holds an MBA from Texas A&M Commerce. In 2007, he married his wife, Angela Awad. They are currently living in Cedar Hill, Texas, with their 5 beautiful children, Ephraim, Eliana, Olive, Nouri, and Charis.
