Did you grow up learning and hearing that it's not good to cry? Or that crying implies weakness? We've come to the conclusion as a society that a natural and necessary response to a variety of triggers as simple as crying, is actually looked down upon. I want to invite you into the learning process of what it is to "attachment cry." Sometimes our crying can lean to the side of self pity, woe is me, and selfish ends. Attachment crying promotes a safe space to connect with someone else in vulnerability, thus providing intimacy, and an opportunity to move past the hurt of the current moment. We are humans. Humans cry. Let's do it right.

Facing grief, we tend to fall into one of two categories:
1. Massive amounts of positivity which leads to suppressing, burying, and denying the pain inside (which creates triggers), or,
2. We are so in tune with our selves and emotions that we over-think and end up in a state of analysis paralysis.
Either way, we can denote that pain left untouched or pain constantly sat in can leave us with bitterness, resentment, and hopelessness. I invite you into a safe space to go to those hard feelings. Face those memories, and allow yourself to FEEL. After having lost my own mother, I too am well acquainted with the stages of grief. You are NOT alone! You are loved, needed, wanted, and celebrated!
Let's shift our perspective to seeing our circumstance with the narrative that "somehow this is better" even when we don't understand.

Have you ever wondered why animals in nature never suffer from PTSD, even though they are being hunted, family members are being eaten, and food is scarce? Without getting too detailed, animals lack the part of the brain that suppresses trauma. They release or discharge trauma by experiencing it from start to finish, shake, and let it go.
Wouldn't it be freeing to be able to completely walk through our previous traumas, and leave feeling safe and victorious? We encourage you to listen to this episode in its entirety as the incredible Dr. Barbara Lowe, PhD LP BCC SEP, walks us through practical steps toward stability in our emotions, memories, and mind.
It's worth it. You're worth it. We are here with you.

Facing our trauma is not easy. It's not fun. It's not something we look forward to when we plan our day. That said, I highly encourage you to start the process. How can we live a life unlocked if we are still in bondage to an experience or consistent low-grade neglect from our past? This episode sheds light on the foundational truths of our personalities, how we relate to ourself, and even the scientific application/explanation of what truly happens when we face trauma.
This isn't a moment to compare traumas saying "they had it worse than I", or "I'm permanently damaged because of what they did to me." Rather, it's an opportunity to recognize the systems that our mind set in place to protect us from ever getting hurt again, and uprooting it from our subconscious. Let's reframe our circumstance, reinforce the truth that yes, we are safe, and that there is hope for a bright future.
