Ever had an unrealistic dream that you finally realized you had to let go of? Today we have an incredibly humble, faithful, and accountable guest sharing his experience on letting go of unrealistic expectations, and seeking after truth and what’s right - not necessarily what’s comfortable. Jeff Farris has extensive experience in the business world and has had countless encounters with the Lord’s faithfulness that have proven the reality that the Lord never leaves us nor forsakes us. With every new position, promotion, demotion, and change of scenery, Jeff takes us through the process of a career change and how to honor each ebb and flow. Be encouraged by his story! More about Jeff: Jeff Farris, graduated from Howard Payne University with a BS degree in Medical Technology, and has focused his entire career on healthcare, starting with management positions in hospital laboratories and migrating to information systems across all areas of both inpatient and outpatient facilities. The last twenty eight years of Jeff's career were spent with the National Health Information Network (NHIN) and PDX Inc., privately owned companies focused on retail pharmacy software and services. During the last fifteen years of Jeff's career at PDX, he served as the CEO of these companies, which grew to be the largest provider of software and services to the retail pharmacy space in the United States, with over ten thousand pharmacies in their network and more than 600 employees. The companies were sold to Change Healthcare in June of 2019. Jeff worked for Change Healthcare during the transition period until he took the position of Chairman of the Board for EHRData, a startup company focused on consolidating healthcare data using blockchain technology. ☞ FOLLOW DR. “Well if he won’t do the dishes, then I won’t,” “If she won’t talk to me then I won’t talk to her.” These are examples of what might be said in a reciprocal love where you only give as much as the other in the relationship. Don’t be discouraged! This is a very common occurrence and can be remedied if we learn to switch from reciprocal to covenantal love in relationships. Dr. Ripley, the Hughes chair of Christian integration and co-director of the Charis Institute at Regent University, takes us through the process of what a “hope focused” relationship looks like. Let’s learn to love above and beyond in service of one another, get vulnerable, and defend each others’ vulnerabilities! ☞ FOLLOW DR. It’s safe to say that the majority of us have experienced various symptoms on a regular basis whether it be brain fog, fatigue, headaches, hormonal imbalances, inflammation, anxiety, the list goes on. But what if we could eliminate those symptoms through our food? Maybe it seems too good to be true - we can assure you it’s not! This week, we are in the second installment of restoring joy in the kitchen with my amazing and brilliant friend Rebecca “Bec” Megan. Bec breaks down what happens in our body when we begin to nourish it with specific foods, spices, and recipes. Nutrition is a journey, so don’t expect a quick fix. Recognize the value in nourishing our bodies well and own the daily steps to get there! As we’ve shared before, Bec is a health educator, cook, and is passionate about educating people. Her hope is to transform food culture in homes around the globe through education about the body and how food affects it. Bec wants people to love their kitchen. One of her favorite sayings is, “the body is designed for life and not disease.” Join us on the journey to health and wholeness and let’s get back in the kitchen! ☞ FOLLOW REBECCA MEGAN ☜ Website (enroll in her gut course here!)
